Research Campus in Hamburg Bahrenfeld

Research and you shall find

Order and clarity – these two requirements were paramount in the development of a signage system for the international research campus in the Hamburg district of Bahrenfeld. The distinctive structure of the site with its elongated or ring-shaped particle accelerators presents a challenge for visitors. To enable clear and simple orientation a map was therefore drawn up, reminiscent of a bus or underground map. Additional barrier-free use is aided by tactile information and a navigation app for the blind and visually impaired. Digital signage elements also supplement the information available. The design of the system incorporates technical details of the research campus, such as cables and piping or X-ray light.
