Mathematisch-Physikalischer Salon, Dresden (Royal Cabinet of Mathematical and Physical Instruments)

A sophisticated setting for sophisticated instruments

One of the world’s oldest collections of scientific instruments is housed in the Mathematisch-Physikalische Salon of the Dresden Zwinger. The collection of Augustus the Strong impresses with ornate telescopes, pocket watches and sky models that were pioneering for their time. The signage system not only connects the collection, it also underscores its special value. Black plaques with copper-coloured edges and lettering are both sophisticated and discreet, serving as an ideal setting for the instruments on display.
